K2 (Karakorum 2)
K2 is also known as Godwin Austin and in Balti (local) language it is called CHOGORI.
K2 is the second most highest mountain after Mount Everest.
It is situated at Shiger (village) of Gilgit Baltistan Pakistan.
Its elevation is 8611 m (28251 feet). It is the second mountain measured in the Karakorum range that's why its name is K2 (Karakorum 2).
First time discovered and measured in 1856.
Sir Godwin Austin was the first person who surveyed K2 first time.
